Roy Dean Gorsuch
Roy Dean Gorsuch, 72, of Ligonier, Ind., passed away at 10:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Parkview North Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Dec. 10, 1940, at the family farm in Noble County, Ind., to Dale and Almeda (Reeve) Gorsuch.
Mr. Gorsuch was a machinist for Silgan Plastics (formerly Monsanto) for 42 years. He was also a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed horses, fishing and hunting and his four wheeler. Roy was a true outdoorsman.
He loved watching football and could always be found in front of the TV for the Indianapolis Colts game. He loved spending time with his faithful dog, Kola Bear, and his napping companions, Ms. Kitty and Spook. He was our rock and salvation, always giving support and happiness.
Roy is survived by his companion of 28 years: Sharon Pfeiffer, Ligonier; four children: David (Gennie) Gorsuch, Corunna, Ind.; Rick Gorsuch, Columbia City, Ind.; and Steve Gorsuch, Goshen, Ind.; and a daughter: Katrina “Tina” (Greg) Wysong, Kimmell, Ind.; two step-children: Mark (Amber) Pfeiffer, Kendallville, Ind.; and Michelle Pfeiffer, Ligonier; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren survive; a brother: Karl (Mary Jane) Gorsuch, Kimmell; and a sister: Lois Replogle, Kimmell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: William Gorsuch.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, as well as one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home. Reverend Thomas Ebbings will officiate. Burial will be in the Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.
Memorial contributions may be given to Loveway Therapeutic Riding Center in Middlebury or the Noble County Humane Shelter in Kendallville.
