Grace-Bethel Clash Tonight
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – One of the greatest rivalries in the country will continue its thrilling history tonight as the NAIA’s Game of the Week, announced by the NAIA national office on Thursday morning.
No. 12 Grace College will host No. 21 Bethel College tonight at the Orthopaedic Capital Center at 7 p.m. for a game that has tremendous implications on the Crossroads League standings.
The Pilots currently sit atop the league with an unblemished 6-0 record. The Lancers (5-1) are one game behind entering tonight’s contest.
Grace owns a four-game winning streak over Bethel, including last year’s thrilling 100-97 double-overtime victory at the OCC.
The all-time series is remarkably tied after 118 games. Each team is 59-59 in the rivalry, which dates back to 1960.
Bethel and Grace boast high-powered offenses with each squad ranked in the top 30 in the country in points per game.
As a team, the Pilots rank third in the NAIA in 3-point field goal percentage (41.7 percent) with Zach Miller leading the team at 2.8 treys made per game.
The Lancers feature the leader in both rebounding (Greg Miller) and assists (Bruce Grimm Jr.) in the Crossroads League. Miller currently is No. 3 nationally with 10.2 rebounds per game, and Grimm’s 5.6 assists per game ranks 11th in the NAIA.
