UPDATE: Vehicle In Flames After Crash
One vehicle erupted in flames following a car crash at SR 15 and CR 900 North near Milford Friday night.
According to a report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Taylor Silvers, 18, of Syracuse, was traveling north on SR 15 talking on her cell phone and failed to notice that another vehicle, driven by Robert R. Bedward, 30, of Etna Green, was stopped on the highway waiting to make a left turn onto CR 900 North.
Silvers vehicle, a 1996 Dodge Neon caught fire after rear-ending Bedward’s 2001 Dodge pickup truck.
Silvers complained of face and knee pain and was treated at the scene by Multi-Township EMS medics. Bedward also complained of facial pain and a passenger in his truck, Michael R. Hertsel, 29, of Nappanee, complained of neck pain.
The crash happened about about 10:50 p.m. Milford Fire Department was also called to the crash due to the fire, and crews from INDOT were called to salt the area of SR 15 at CR 900 North due to the formation of ice from the water.
Damages were estimated at up to $10,000.
