Incidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department have recently investigated the following incidents:
- Dec. 27, 1:31 p.m. Menards reported a shoplifting which resulted in the arrest of two individuals at 1000 Husky Trl.
- Dec. 26, 2:50 p.m. An investigation let to the arrest of a driver involved in an accident at 305 Old Colony Rd., where the individual who was driving had never obtained a license and had an outstanding warrant in Whitley County.
Accidents
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department have recently investigated the following traffic accidents:
- Friday, Dec. 28, 7:06 a.m. Old Road 30 East. Driver: Abram Bottles, 32, Alesha Way, Millersburg. A deer ran into the roadway and collided with the vehicle. Damages: up to $1,000
- Friday, Dec. 28, 12:19 a.m. U.S. 30 East. Driver: Henry McDaniel, 38, Manilla Avenue, Memphis, Tenn. Several deer ran ito the roadway and collided with McDaniel’s vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
- Thursday, Dec. 27, 10:50 p.m. Commerce Drive. Driver: Erin Murphy, 17, South SR 5, South Whitley. A truck crossed the center line and struck Murphy’s vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
- Thursday, Dec. 27, 3:53 p.m.. East Center Street. Drivers: Mark Dickinson, 38, East Oak Pointe Crossing, Warsaw; and Sandra Hawks, 48, North Arubutus Trail, Warsaw. Dickinson attempted to turn into an alley and turned in front of Hawk’s vehicle causing the vehicles to collide. Damages: up to $5,000
- Thursday, Dec. 27, 1:22 p.m. East Center Street and Robmar Drive. Driver: Nicholas Sands, 16, North 175 South, Warsaw. Sands rear-ended a vehicle, however, the other driver did not stop. Damages: up to $2,500
- Wednesday, Dec. 26, 11:25 a.m. South McClellan Street and East Pope Street. Driver: Kyle Earley, 25, Sandra Lane, Winona Lake. Earley’s vehicle slid on the ice while attempting to stop and hit a curb. Damages: up to $2,500
- Wednesday, Dec. 26, 1:06 p.m. North Harrison Street and East Sheridan Street. Driver: Geoffrey Morris, 20, West Blanchard Street, Warsaw. Morris slid off the road and struck a concrete block. Damages: up to $2,500
- Wednesday, Dec. 26, 1:46 p.m. Enterprise Drive and North Detroit Street. Drivers: Timothy Meloy, 43, South 775 East, Pierceton; and Tristan Grubbs, North Blaine Street, North Webster. Meloy rear ended Grubb’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
- Wednesday, Dec. 26, 12:08 p.m. North Detroit Street. Drivers: Jaron Moore, 22, North 200 East, Milford; and Tyler Sherwin, South 700 East, Pierceton. Shwerin believes he did not make a wide enough turn at the intersection and collided with Moore’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
- Thursday, Dec. 27, 4:45 a.m. U.S. 30 West and Commerce Drive. Drivers: John Osterman, 44, North SR 5, Larwill; and Herbert Stump, South 500 West, Silver Lake. Osterman doze off while driving and struck Stump’s vehicle. Damages: up to $25,000
- Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2:50 p.m. Old Colony Road and Inverness Point. Drivers: Jose Ruis, 27, East Oak Pointe Crossing, Warsaw; and Curtis Meeks, 38, Old Colony Road, Warsaw. Ruis was unable to turn at the intersection and slid into Meek’s vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
- Wednesday, Dec. 26, 3:24 p.m. 302 W. Market Street. Driver: Brandon Faubion, 19, North Lake Street, Warsaw. Faubion’s vehicle slid into a parked vehicle. Damages: up to $1,000
