Louis Lee Van Doren
Louis Lee Van Doren, 69, of Rochester, Ind., passed away at 12:42 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in his residence.
On Dec. 26, 1943, he was born in Kosciusko County to Billie and Patricia (Rohler) Van Doren. He married Frances Kirkendall on July 3, 1964, in Warsaw, who survives.
Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, Louis was a graduate of Warsaw High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the beginning of the Vietnam Conflict. He moved to Harlinger, Texas, for 12 years until returning to Indiana in 2006.
He was self-contracted in mail delivery for various branches of the U.S. Post Office, retiring in the early 1980’s. He also worked for Transpo Senior Bus Service, Rochester, and the Confederate Air Force, Harlinger, Texas.
Louis was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rochester, the Eagles Lodge, Rochester, HAM Radio Club, Warsaw and The Good Sam Club, Warsaw. He enjoyed having friends over to visit as well as going to their homes to visit.
Louis is survived by his wife: Frances Van Doren, Rochester; a sister: Susan (Wayne) Fretz, Warsaw, Ind.; a sister-in-law: Rita (Roger) Laird, Warsaw; and several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation hours will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
