Harold Walter
Harold Walter, 87, of rural Tippecanoe, Ind., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.
Harold was born to William F. and Naomi Sims Walter on April 10, 1925, at Valparaiso, Ind. He was joined in marriage to Irma “Sally” DeWitt on Nov. 6, 1949.He was a retired farmer, he enjoyed driving the tractors and watching his son’s farm, cutting firewood and he was a Gideon. He was a faithful member of the Etna Green Church of Christ. He faithfully served United States Army as a Sergeant stationed in Japan following World War II.
Surviving is his wife: Sally; and their six children: Barbara (Terry) Heckaman, Lansing, Mich.; Michael and Diane Walter, Richard and Sandy Walter, all of Tippecanoe; Ronald and Twila Walter, Monroeville, Ind.; Becky (Bruce) Woodward, Warsaw; and Christine (Alex) Jack, Plymouth, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a brother: Elmer Walter, Hannibal, Mo.
He was proceeded in death by a daughter: Lynnette; three grandchildren: Noah Andrew, Matthew William and Leah Christine; a sister: Viola Weimer; and a brother: Richard Walter.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, in the Etna Green Church of Chris,t 206 W. Broadway, Etna Green, Ind. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P. the Etna Green Church of Christ with Pastor Jordan Ickes and Chaplain Major Alex Jack officiating. Burial will follow in the Etna Green Cemetery.
The family request memorial contributions are made to the Etna Green Church of Christ in his memory.
