Alice Twait, 74, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, Ind.

She was born on May 13, 1938, in Lansing, Mich., to Frank and Verbena (Groenveld) Oostra. She grew up in Lansing and attended Lansing High School. She moved to the Syracuse area in 1967 from Lansing and spent the past four years in Bonita Springs, Fla.

She was a homemaker and member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by a daughter: Lisa Goon, Leesburg, Ind.; a son: Jim Twait, Syracuse, Ind.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her lifetime companion: Ron Rosser, Syracuse; a sister: Fran Baker, Crown Point, Ind.; and two brothers: Pete (Elaine) Oostra, Munster, Ind.; and Robert (Kathy) Oostra, Kalistell, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500 North, North Webster, Ind. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at the funeral home with Pastor David Herr of the church officiating.
