Jane Wimberly Ayars
Jane Wimberly Ayars, 82, of North Manchester, Ind., died at 8:03 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Peabody Healthcare Center.
She was born Sept. 27, 1930, in Greenfield, Iowa, to Ware William and Isabel Jane (Connelly) Wimberly.
Jane was a 1948 graduate of Wabash High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Park College in Parkville, Mo. She grew up in the Wabash Presbyterian Church and was a member of the La Porte Presbyterian Church. She was the Administrator of the Ruth C. Sabin Home in La Porte, Ind., retiring in 2000. Jane was very active in her church. She enjoyed needlework, was an avid reader and especially loved her family.
Jane is survived by her five children: Kit Ayars, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Louise (Rob) Ayars Barden, North Hampton, Mass.; Bryan (Barrie) Ayars, Lee, Mass.; Bradley (Cindy) Ayars, Lititz, Pa.; and Suzanne (Drumm) Osborn, La Porte; 10 grandchildren: Joshua Lowe, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Jordan Lowe, Chicago, Ill.; James Barden, North Hampton; Isabella Barden, North Hampton; William Ayars, Samuel Ayars and Karen Ayars, all of Lititz; and Michael Osborn, Rachel Osborn and Emily Osborn, all of LaPorte; her brother: Ware William (Tracy) Wimberly II, Wabash, Ind.; her sister: Isabel Louise (Bob) Deeter Lewis, Lagro, Ind.; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family graveside services will be Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, in Falls Cemetery, Wabash, with Reverend Jonathan Cornell officiating. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, North Manchester.
