Kosciusko County elected officials were sworn into office today in a special ceremony hosted at the courthouse.
Kosciusko County Circuit Court Judge Rex Reed did the honors of swearing in all of the officials individually following an invocation given by the county’s veterans affairs officer, Rich Maron, and the pledge of allegiance led by emergency management director Ed Rock.

Reed kept the mood of the event light offering anecdotes about most of those he has sworn in several times over the years. But he began with the newest officials – county councilman at-large Jon Fussle and county coroner Michael Wilson – who were being sworn in to office for the first time telling them both they’ll “probably be fine.”
Other councilmen at-large who were sworn in were long-time public servants Larry Teghtmeyer and Bob Sanders, both of whom have served the county in some capacity for years.
Others who took the oath of office today were: Jason McSherry, clerk of circuit court; Sue Ann Mitchell, county treasurer; Richard Kemper, county surveyor; commissioners Brad Jackson and Ron Truex; and circuit court judge Michael W. Reed.
All of the elected officials will have their terms begin Jan. 1, 2013.
