UPDATE: Search On For Wanted Subject
At 10:15 a.m. this morning, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies attempted to serve a Fulton County felony warrant on William R. Newman, 42. Newman fled and led police in a vehicular pursuit that ended in the area of 4th and Rose roads.
The suspect eventually drove into a field and exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Marshall County deputies, with the assistance the Indiana State Police, Walkerton Police Department, Starke County Sheriff’s Department deputies, and Laporte County deputies, set up a perimeter and began tracking the suspect with the assistance of the Marshall County K9 and an ISP K9. At this time, the suspect has not been located.
Newman is a white male with thinning grey/black hair. He was last seen wearing a grey plaid hoodie. Police warn residents to not approach Newman as he may be armed.
