Robert ‘Bob’ Fox
Robert “Bob” Fox, 85, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, Ind., with his wife and daughter by his side.
He was born on April 28, 1927, to George and Ruth (Fisher) Fox in Milford, Ind. He married Chris Grow on Sept. 30, 1950, in Gravelton, Ind.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. Bob retired from NIPSCO after 37 years of service. He was a Crane Operator. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49, Warsaw.
Bob enjoyed traveling, reading, having coffee with friends, playing cards with family, and fishing. He has traveled to all 50 states, and made a special trip to tour Europe on their 50th wedding anniversary. He loved to visit his brother in Arizona and go hiking in the mountains. Most of all he loved being with his wife, grandchildren, his daughter and family get-togethers.
Bob is survived by his wife: Chris, Warsaw, Ind.; one daughter: Diane (Jeff) Clay, Warsaw; grandchildren: Kristina (Dan) Sjurset, West Chicago, Ill.; and Ryan Clay, Warsaw; one brother: Virgil (Irene) Fox, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two sisters: Marge (Max) Miller, Nappanee, Ind.; and Lois (Dave) Hostetter, Middlebury, Ind.; one brother-in-law: William Grow and companion, Marlene Blackford, both of Warsaw; one sister-in-law: Zenal (Earl) Brown, Nappanee; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Owen and Andy Fox; and two sisters: Melba Spence and Dorothy Adams.
There will be a graveside service on at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by the American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126, both of Warsaw. Chaplain Bob Jarboe (Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice) will officiate the service.
