Russell L. Nine
Russell L. Nine, 81, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, in Fort Wayne Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Feb. 12, 1931, in Hicksville, Ohio, to Ralph and Margaret (McCalley) Nine. He married Donna Grindle on June 10, 1949, in Warsaw, then married Cleo Arnett on Aug. 6, 1987, also in Warsaw.
He was a machine operator at Kimbel Glass for 35 years retiring in 1985. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting; was an avid fisherman – he taught his identical twin daughters how to fish before they could walk; loved his family – especially the grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters: Christine (Alan) Meck, Pierceton, Ind.; and Kathleen (Joel H.) Zehner, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Sirenna (Scott) McDonald, Warsaw; Angel (Alan) Blakeley, Warsaw; Jason Meck, Pierceton; Joel R. Zehner, Warsaw; Chris Zehner, Warsaw; two great-granddaughters: Kelsea and Hannah; a step-son: J.C. (Pamela) Harman, Birmingham, Ala.; two step-daughters: Michelle (Andy) Greer, Columbia, S.C.; Rhonda Wells, Columbia, Tenn.; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother: Donald Nine, Melbourne, Fla.; and a sister: Linda (Bill) Haney, Ariz.
He was preceded by his first wife: Donna Nine; and his second wife: Cleo Arnett; and a granddaughter: Crystal Zehner.
His visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Titus Funeral Home. No services are planned.
