The winning numbers in Wednesday night’s record high Powerball drawing have been chosen.

Last night’s jackpot had already rolled over 16 consecutive times without a winner, but Powerball officials were predicting a 75 percent chance that the winning combination would be drawn this time. This morning, the results show they were right.

Two jackpot winning tickets were sold – one each in Arizona and Missouri. There were also several $2 million winners in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, New Mexico, Ohio and South Carolina.

There were also a number of $1 million winners, including at least one Indiana.

We asked our readers on Facebook: Did you win any of the $579 million prize? Most everyone reported taking a loss, but there were a few who won small dollar amounts ranging from $2 to $30.

Saturday night’s Powerball jackpot is estimated at $40 million.
