Owen Miller
Owen Miller, 71, of Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa, Ind., formerly of Nappanee, Ind., died at 9:40 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at Goshen IU Health after a brief illness.
He was born March 14, 1941, in Kosciusko County to Eli E. and Elsie (Borkholder) Miller.
Mr. Miller had lived in Hutchinson, Kan., for 33 years and moved back to Nappanee in 2001. He had formerly worked at Liberty Coach in Indiana and Kansas and retired from Doskocil Foods in Hutchinson, Kan. He was a member of North Main Street Mennonite Church. Mr. Miller was raised in the Amish Church.
Surviving are sisters, Edna E. and Nina E. Miller both of Nappanee; nephews, Glen R. (Barbara) Miller, Everet R. (Monica) Miller, Lester R. (Naomi) Miller, Leon R. (Marlene) Miller, all of Milford, Ind.; Edwin R. (Martha) Miller, Nappanee, Ind.; Marlin R. (Sharon) Miller, Bremen, Ind.; and a niece-in-law: Viola Miller, Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother: Katie Miller; a brother: Raymond E. Miller; a stillborn sister: Martha Milller; a sister: Ada E. Miller; a nephew: Earl R. Miller; and a great-nephew: Marvin L. Miller.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and for one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday at North Main Street Mennonite Church. Rev. Ruben Chupp will officiate and burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
