Marilyn Josephine McCann Hartman
Marilyn Josephine McCann Hartman, 88, of Leesburg, Ind., passed away at 8:57 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Ind.
She was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Leesburg to Hugh and Edith Belle (Anglin) McCann. On April 30, 1943, she married Raymond Lewis Hartman, who survives.
She worked for Sun Metal in Warsaw and The Town Shop in Leesburg.
She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Leesburg, she currently belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 49, Warsaw. She was past president of the Tippy Lee Homemakers Club and she belonged to the Kosciusko Community Hospital Senior Club. Marilyn was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church. She helped organize the Memorial Day parade for many years and placed the American flags on the veterans graves.
She graduated from Leesburg High School in 1943. Marilyn enjoyed watching basketball, softball and soccer games and liked to work in the garden and her flowers. She also enjoyed poetry and crafts.
She is also survived by her sons: Kim (Becky) Hartman and Randy (Diana) Hartman; eight grandchildren: Sherri (Darrin) Hartman Linoln, Kerri Hartman, Barry Hartman, Lyn (Ian) Hartman Crighton, Leslie Hartman and her companion Brandon, Justin (Zoe) Hartman, Zaccari Kolanowski and Chris Kolanowski, seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Larry Hartman; and a great-granddaughter: Santel Miles.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Seewald officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg.
