BZA Grants Approvals For Expansions, New Construction
Gilsinger Rentals on SR 15 in Leesburg was granted approval to expand its existing office by the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday. The expansion will include construction of an addition 60 feet by 140 feet in size, as well as an addition to the showroom 14 feet to the north property line.
Other business included:
- Kathleen Sharpe was granted a variance to permit the construction of a new house 15 feet from the right-of-way, not the 9 feet originally asked for, on EMS D12 Lane at Dewart Lake in Van Buren Township.
- Andrea Labarbera’s petition was continued until the Dec. 11 meeting. She is asking for a variance to allow the construction of a second permanent residence on one tract of ground on CR 925E, south of CR 500N in Tippecanoe Township. The number of sell-offs permitted by ordinance has already been exhausted and the BZA asked her to consider a temporary residence or otherwise the property would need to be rezoned and subdivided.
- Cindy Mueller-Brown’s petition for a variance to allow an existing residence to remain as illegally constructed was approved, but since the construction was started without a permit a $250 fee must be paid. In addition, a $250 settlement proposal was attached as a condition to approval. The property is located on EMS W17 Lane, west of CR 950E in Tippecanoe Township.
- David Lahrman’s petition for a variance to permit a carport was approved with conditions on Dixie Drive, north of Effie Mae Street in North Webster. The carport must be open and trees trimmed to free up visibility.
- Daniel Motherwell’s petition for a variance to allow two sheds to remain as placed on EMS B70 Lane, southeast of Barbee Road in Tippecanoe Township, was approved.
