More Than $7,000 Raised For Alzheimer’s Association
A golf outing held Sept. 15 at Magic Hills Golf Course in Columbia City netted $7,340 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Russ Fahl, owner of the golf course and of Westhaven Estates in Warsaw, held the benefit at his golf course to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of his wife, Evelyn, who was diagnosed with the disease about 5 years ago. Evelyn is now residing in an assisted living community in Fort Wayne.
The four-person scramble included a $50 registration fee with 100 percent of all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Association, a leading global health organization providing support to families and victims of the disease.
Fahl said there approximately 40 businesses that sponsored holes and provided prizes for the event.
