UPDATE: WPD Officer Escaped Injuries
A Warsaw Police Officer escaped injury Tuesday afternoon when his squad car was hit by another vehicle. Initially, witnesses told StaceyPageOnline.com that the officer involved was Allen Danko and his K9 partner, Pako.
According to a police accident report provided by Warsaw Police Department today, however, WPD Officer Jason Dobbins, 43, was the driver of the squad car. The officer was responding to car crash shortly after 5 p.m. when his car was struck at Buffalo Street and Winona Avenue.
According to witness Bryce Owens, the officer was northbound on Buffalo Street with the emergency lights and siren activated when Dobbins slowed for the intersection. Crystal S. Moore, 51, of Rochester, was westbound on Winona Avenue in an SUV and failed to yield the right of way to the squad car, striking the rear passenger door.
Owens said the squad car spun 180 degrees, but none of the officers were injured. According to the police report, Dobbins was the only officer involved. The female driver was placed in an ambulance for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries.
