Three Jailed After Bar Fight
Warsaw Police arrested three people early Saturday after bar fight at Susie’s Sand Bar.
According to police, at about 1:33 a.m. Saturday, officers of the WPD and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to Susie’s Sand Bar, 1360 W. Center St., in reference to a large fight in progress. Upon arriving, officers located two injured parties.
The first person identified was the owner, Susan Helms, 51, of Warsaw, who had head, neck and upper chest injuries which included cuts, an indentation to her forehead and visible bruising. Her injuries were a result of being grabbed by the throat and being thrown down. She struck her head on the corner of a pool table after she went to break up a small fight.
A second female, Jamie Hizer, 41, of Warsaw was still feeling pain to the side of her head. Hizer also attempted to calm the initial fight down when another female grabbed her by the hair and shoved her into a wall. Both Helms and Hizer were treated at the scene by EMS.
Police determined that Shane F. Dawson, 30, of Warsaw was responsible for grabbing and throwing Helms down, causing her to strike her head on the pool table.
Latasha L. Roush, 22, of Warsaw was found to be the party responsible for throwing Hizer into the wall.
Dawson was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and charged with battery resulting a serious bodily injury, a Class C felony.
Roush was also transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and charged with Class B misdemeanor battery.
While at the scene, Warsaw Police also located Michael P. Eldridge, 21, of Warsaw, who had two active warrants from Kosciusko County for battery resulting in bodily injury.
