Mary Opal Shock
Mary Opal Shock, 95, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the IU Goshen Hospital.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1917, in Utley, Ohio, to George and Sarah (Carpenter) Clark. She was married to Cecil Shock, who passed away in March of 1968.
She was a homemaker, residing in Syracuse, Ind., over 27 years, having previously resided in Ohio. She was a longtime member of the Wawasee Baptist Church.
She is survived by her three daughters: Peggy Mount, Findlay, Ohio; Sharon Butler, Syracuse; and Jamie Erb, Syracuse; and two sons: Robert Shock, Parkersburg, W.V.; and Jack Shock I, Ava, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, at the McVey-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell, Ohio. There will be one hour of calling at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Parkersburg, W.V.
