Marketa ‘Martee’ Lollar
Marketa “Martee” Lollar, 51, went to sleep and woke up next to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Mass.
Martee was born on May 28, 1961. She was a resident of Kosciusko County, graduating from Warsaw Community High School in 1979, then went on to attend DePauw University. On graduation day, she walked across the stage as a proud Alpha Gama Delta, holding a Bachelor’s degree in English composition.
Martee was a vocalist with the ‘78 Sounds of Hope tour, and performed in eight European countries as a member of their choir. On April 6,1985, Martee married her “PC,” or prince charming as she called him, Marion “Truman” Lollar in Tampa, Fla. The love they shared for each other was one of a kind and undeniable by anyone who saw them together.
Martee faithfully attended Warsaw Community Church where she enjoyed worshipping her best friend, Jesus Christ, along with pursuing mission trips, assisting with children’s ministries and leading Bible studies. While homeschooling her daughters, Kyra and Nakita, Martee edited and published many pieces of work for a variety of organizations.
Before moving to Warsaw, Martee was assistant director of Good News Express in Rochester, Ind., a performing group whose goal was to spread the gospel through song and dance. Martee always stayed very involved in her daughters’ lives. As they entered high school, she followed closely behind, landing a job at Warsaw Community High School as a job coach for the special needs students, which brought her great joy.
After school, she would assist in coaching the WCHS dance team where her daughters were both members. Martee enjoyed many motorcycle trips with her husband, time camping with family and friends, and always looked forward to Christian women’s retreats.
Above all else, Martee was a true servant of Christ: always looking for ways to help others in a way that would glorify God.
Martee is survived by her husband: Truman; and three daughters: Tiffany, Kyra and Nakita; her parents: Richard and Donna Mitchell; a sister: Kathi (Robb Blume); a brother: Rick Mitchell, (Wendy).
A emorial service for Martee will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Warsaw Community Church, located at 2300 Ranch Rd. in Warsaw. A Time of Gathering will be held with friends and family after the Memorial Service at the Church. Pastor Denny Wilson will be officiating the service. Burial will be at a later date. McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
