Warsaw Man Charged With Sexual Battery
Warsaw Police detectives have completed an investigation involving a Warsaw man causing unwanted sexual activity with an acquaintance.
Fred Christian, 53, of Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail early this morning after a criminal warrant was issued.
According to Warsaw Police, the sexual allegation was first reported in September by a 51-year-old woman. The woman told police she went to Christian’s home on South Columbia Street in Warsaw to visit a friend, but the friend was not there.
While the woman was at the home, Christian confronted her, engaged in sexual touching, prevented the woman from leaving, and then eventually forced her to engage in intercourse. In an October interview with police, Christian admitted his involvement.
The arrest warrant from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office returned with one count of sexual battery, a Class D felony.
Warsaw Police detectives were assisted in the investigation by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
