L. Maxine Pifer
L. Maxine Pifer, 92, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 6:07 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in Mason Healthcare and Rehabilitation Warsaw.
She was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Kosciusko County, Ind., to Charles and Belle (Daughtery) Pinkerton.
She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. She married Anthony Wayne Pifer on Nov. 17, 1940, who preceded her in 1988 and then married John Kehoe in Warsaw on Oct. 9, 1993.
She was a retired administrative assistant for Zimmer with 18 years of service. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Warsaw and the Sacred Heart Rosary Altar Society. In addition, she attended Trinity United Methodist Church of Warsaw.
She is survived by her husband: John Kehoe, Warsaw; children: Steve (Lois) Pifer, Savannah, Ga.; Doug (Kim) Pifer, Warsaw; and Carolyn (Mike) Lutes, Warsaw; step-children: Dixie (Jim) Kraus, Warsaw; Pam (Dick) Craig, South Bend, Ind.; and Connie (Bruce) Hayden, Warsaw; a sister: Louise Miller, Leesburg, Ind.; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Calling hours will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, with a Rosary service at 4:30 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Warsaw. Father Phil DeVolder will officiate the Mass. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Warsaw.
