Avanell Houska
Avanell Houska, 82, of Kosciusko County, Ind., passed away at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.
She was born Dec. 15, 1929, Prestonsburg, Ky., to James and Catherine (Miller) Whitaker. She was married to Chester Houska on Oct. 16, 1962. She lived most of her life in Kosciusko County and was a homemaker and a member of Pentecostal Lighthouse Church.
She is survived by a stepdaughter: Kathylene Dannemen, Chicago, Ill.; a stepson: Wayne (Sandy) Houska, S.C.; two brothers: Roby (Rebecca) Whitaker, North Manchester, Ind.; Delmer (Silvia) Whitaker, Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Chester Houska; three brothers: Albert Whitaker, Lacy Whitaker, Luther Whitaker; two sisters: Susie England and Sadie Crist.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, 125 Fawley St., Warsaw, and Rev. Glenn Hughes (Pentecostal Lighthouse Church) and Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher (Mason Health and Rehabilitation chaplain). Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
