Shirley Mae Clay Davis
Shirley Mae Clay Davis, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at the residence of her sons in Pierceton, Ind.
On Jan. 7, 1936, Shirley was born to Richard and Wanada (Raifsnyder) Cox in Niles, Mich. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County.
Shirley was a member of the God’s Highway to Heaven Church, Warsaw. Shirley worked at PlastaPack in Warsaw, Heaters / Dekko in North Webster, and Holiday Inn in Warsaw. Shirley enjoyed her flower gardens, being outside in the yard, loved spending time with her family, the grand children and great grand-children. Along with enjoying and spending time with the family, she was involved with bowling leagues at the Gilliam Bowling Lanes.
Shirley is survived by her daughters: Tanya (Pastor Bob) Brown, Warsaw; Cindy (Rick) Ousley, Pierceton, Ind.; Donna Patrick, Pierceton; two sons: David (fiancee Mona Hemmer) Hein, Pierceton; and Donald (Vicky) Clay Jr., Pierceton; a brother: Richard Cox, Middleberry; her sisters: Phyllis Sherck, Goshen Ind.; and Mary Garber, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Shirley was preceded in death by her mother: Wanda Cox; her father: Richard Cox; her stepfather: Grover Vanett; brothers: Robert Cox and Marvel Mehl; and a granddaughter: Charity Lynn Robertson.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at God’s Highway to Heaven Church, Warsaw. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at the church. Pastor Bob Brown will be officiating the service. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery.
