Roger Fellows
Roger Fellows, 75, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:54 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in his residence.
He was born March 3, 1937 in Warsaw to Dayton and Ruth (Hildenbrand) Fellows. He was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident and was a 1955 Warsaw High School graduate.
He faithfully served his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962 as a Specialist (E 4) as a Military Policeman with the 524th MP Company and was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. On Oct. 28, 1967, in Warsaw, he was united in marriage to Lynne Prewitt. Roger served the citizens of Kosciusko County from June 1, 1963, to Sept. 8, 1997, with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
During his career he served as Chief Deputy from 1965 to 1973 under then Sheriff Dave Andrews and from 1981 to 1997 he served as Lieutenant / Jail Commander. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church Warsaw, the Kosciusko County Fraternal Order of Police, a lifetime National Rifle Association member and the American Single Shot Rifle Association.
He survived by his wife: Lynne Fellows, Warsaw; a daughter: Amanda Fellows, Indianapolis; a son Don: (Christy) Fellows, Omaha, Neb.; and grandchildren: Evelyn, Ava and Sophia.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services are scheduled 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw with Military Honors provided by the Warsaw, American Legion Post #49, the Warsaw V.F.W. Post #1126 and the Indiana Army Reserve National Guard. Pastor Dave Hummel will officiate the service.
