Criminal Confinement, Strangulation Arrest In Leesburg
Shane Lee Senter, 37, of 9508 E. King Arthur Tr., Cromwell, was taken into custody when officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 300 block of Smith Street in Leesburg Friday night to check the welfare of a female.
The original caller advised officers she believed her neighbor might be in danger from her current boyfriend, identified as Senter.
Deputies arrived at the residence but could not get anyone to come to the door. Contact was then made with the victim, Tamara Wood, via telephone, at which point officers believed that she was under duress.
Senter then spoke to officers on the cellular phone and agreed to exit the residence. As officer met with Senter, the victim exited the house very disoriented with noticeable bruises covering her face and neck.
Multi-Township EMS was immediately summoned to the scene as other officers questioned Senter in regards to her injuries. Wood was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital in serious but stable condition.
Deputies interviewed Wood, who said she had been confined to the residence for almost three days. During that time, Senter allegedly struck her several times as well as strangled her to the point where she almost lost consciousness.
Senter was preliminarily charged with battery resulting in bodily injury, criminal confinement, and strangulation. He is currently being held on a $100,000 bond issued by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
