Rev. Richard Lee Bennett
He was born on Feb. 22, 1929, in Wabash, Ind., to Glenn Jay Bennett and Irene Pearl (Hipskind) Bennett. On July 3, 1951, he married Louise Mae (Drain) Bennett, who passed away on April 24, 2008.
Richard graduated from Wabash High School in Wabash, Ind., then graduated from Marion College, Marion, Ind., and Methodist Theological School in Ohio.
For the past 16 years he has resided in Kosciusko County at Grace Village Retirement Community. He was a member of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church in Wolf Lake, Ind., and served as a United Methodist minister at a number of Pastorates in northeast Indiana.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter: Virginia K. (William “Bill”) Davidson, Angola, Ind.; one son: Michael D. (Nancy) Bennett, Leesburg, Ind.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Thelma Jones, Hillsborough, Ind.; and Lois (Carl) Cloud, Claypool, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and four brothers.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw, Ind. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Matthew Bock. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Gardens of Memory, Marion.
