Robert L. Perkins
Robert L. Perkins, 80, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 6:06 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, in his residence with his family at his side.
Robert was born to Gerald Wayne Perkins and Maude Erma (Wood) Bailey on Jan. 21, 1932, in Pierceton, Ind. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict from 1950-1953. Sgt. Perkins was a member of VFW Post 1126, Warsaw, and the American Legion Post 258, Pierceton.
Robert married Geraldine (Jerry) Hopkins on April 26, 1952, she preceded him in death.
Robert is survived by eight children: Mrs. Cheryl Wallen, Warsaw; Mary Jo (Bob) Pickett, Lafayette; Vickie (Rodney) Mock, Warsaw; Barbara (Mark) Pozorski, Warsaw; Kathryn (Mark) Mathias, Larwill; Robert Frank Perkins, Warsaw; Brian (Leslie) Perkins, Arcadia, LA; Lisa Perkins, Warsaw; a brother: Larry G. Perkins, Kennadalle, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Marlin (Pete) and Norman Lester Perkins; and a grandson: Joshua Robert Eherenman.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at the funeral home with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial to follow with military honors by the VFW Post 1126 and American Legion Post 258 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
