Grace Welcomes Author Eric Metaxas
Grace College is pleased to welcome Eric Metaxas, author of the New York Times Bestseller “Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery,” as a guest speaker to chapel and the Freshman Foundations classroom on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Metaxas’ biography on William Wilberforce, renowned abolitionist, was required summer reading for Grace’s incoming freshman class. During his visit to campus, Metaxas will address the freshmen specifically in their Freshman Foundations class before speaking in Grace’s undergraduate chapel service.
Grace invites the local community to attend Metaxas’ chapel presentation, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Orthopaedic Capital Center. He also spoke at the Kosciusko County Right to Life Banquet on Sept. 24.
Besides his best-selling biography on William Wilberforce, Metaxas has authored another biography titled “Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy,” and has written across several genres, including humor and children’s books, in which he has received various honors and awards . Metaxas was invited to speak at the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast and has had several appearances on CNN and the Fox News Channel. He serves on the vestry of Calvary/St. George’s Episcopal Church, and lives in Manhattan, New York.
