UPDATE: Stand-Off in Syracuse
Indiana State Police Troopers and officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department donned bullet proof vests and had their weapons drawn at a residence at 7919 E. 1000 N., just west of North 800 East near Wawasee Middle School.
Officers on scene told StaceyPageOnline.com yesterday that they were serving a warrant when the suspect, Reginald Thomas Williams, 36, barricaded himself inside the house and refused to come out.
Officers attempted to telephone Williams from outside the residence when they learned he had weapons inside the house. Given the uncertainty of the situation, police stopped any traffic from entering CR 1000 North from SR 13 or from CR 800 East and nearby Wawasee Middle School was placed on lock down.
This morning, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department says family members were used to coax Williams out of the house where he then surrendered without incident.
When police entered the residence they did locate several weapons which were confiscated for safe keeping.
Williams has been charged with two counts of domestic battery, one class A misdemeanor and one class D felony charge for domestic battery in the presence of a child. The warrant was issued yesterday for his arrest.
