Norma Joan (Norton) Weida
Norma Joan (Norton) Weida, 80, of 9 Armadilla Trail, Lake Placid, Fla., came home to go home at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw, Ind.
She was born on Sept. 13, 1932, in Mentone, Ind., to Alonzo Blue and Susan (Decker) Speicher. She was married on Oct. 15, 1993, to Beecher Weida, who survives.
Norma lived most of her life in Kosciusko County, Ind., where she was a homemaker and a seamstress. She retired to Florida 14 years ago, and was a member of the Church of God in Lake Placid, Fla., as well as in Akron, Ind. She made friends wherever she happened to be, and was a kind hearted and loving person.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Beecher Weida, Lake Placid; two daughters: Susan (John) VanCuren, Mentone; Glenna (Dennis) Blue, Warsaw, Ind.; three sons: Charles Thomas Norton, Lake Placid; Mike (Laura) Norton, Claypool, Ind.; Steven (Tamra) Norton, Mentone; one step-daughter: Joanne (Wayne) Hansen, Wabash, Ind.; and one step-son: John (Crystal) Weida, Akron, Ind.; and 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Her funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor William Whitaker. Burial will follow at Mentone Cemetery in Mentone.
