She was born July 2, 1926, in Cleveland Township, Whitley County, Ind., a daughter of Edgar A. and Nellie (Ward) Sherbahn. She attended South Whitley schools graduating from South Whitley High School in 1944.
On July 20, 1945, she was united in marriage to Galen Wolfe Jr. They made their home on a farm in Cleveland Township. In 2004, she moved to her home in South Whitley. Mr. Wolfe died Jan. 11, 1997.
A full-time homemaker, she assisted her husband on the farm. For over 10 years she worked at Heckman Bindery in North Manchester, Ind.
Her memberships included the United Methodist Church of South Whitley.
Surviving relatives include four children: Eddie G. (Karen) Wolfe, Warsaw, Ind.; Susan K. (Terry) Bouse, Silver Lake, Ind.; Barbara A. (Gale) Burkholder, South Whitley; and Patti J. (Gerald) Sobecki, Indianapolis; and 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Kenneth E. Sherbahn.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley, and also one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of South Whitley with Pastor Robert Barton and Associate Pastor Bruce Wrightsman officiating. Burial will be in the South Whitley Cemetery.
