Cycle Challenge To End Poverty To Be Held
In 2009, 2nd Mile Adventures and 2nd Mile Missions held a bicycle tour to help raise money for the 2nd Mile Missions to prevent the cycle of poverty in Bavaro, Dominican Republic. Those funds were used to build a school and provide an education to kids in one of the poorest areas of the world.
In 2010, the event added a trail run/walk and a mountain bike ride and extended a hand to Fellowship Missions, a homeless shelter in Warsaw, to fight poverty at home.
In 2011, 2nd Mile Adventures and 2nd Mile Missions teamed with KCV Cycling Club in Winona Lake and brought even more people in to enjoy the full day day ride/run/walk event to continue to raise money to break the cycle of poverty both locally and abroad.
In 3 years, approximately $10,000 was raised. This year, the event grows even larger as Planet Adventure joins in for the event finale.
Participant donors and sponsors are now being sought for the 2012 Poverty Cycle Challenge Ride/Run/Walk event. There are two events to choose from:
