Martha McCord, 78, of Indianapolis, Ind., and formerly of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:52 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, in Community North Hospital, Indianapolis.

On April 27, 1934, she was born in Branden, Miss., to Roy and Nettie (Fallin) Hatten. She resided in Warsaw and Muncie before moving to Indianapolis 30 years ago. She was a manager of a restaurant in Indianapolis.

Martha is survived by two sons: Terry (Dee) Downhour, Indianapolis; and Lawrence Downhour, Texas; three sisters: Margaret Ward, Warsaw; Betty Sult, Warsaw; and Marie Coblentz, Warsaw; one brother: Alten Hatten, Washington; two granddaughters; three grandsons and five great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Ruth Murphy, Kathleen Kirkendall and Karleen Fingerle.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
