John C. ‘Jack’ Mason
John C. “Jack” Mason, age 84, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 9:37 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., following an extended illness.
He was born the son of the late Claud C. and Mary Blanch (Morr) Mason on April 13, 1928, at the home of his grandfather, Dr. Morr in Albion, Ind. In 1947 he married Patricia Louise Kline. He then married Mary Louise Priser in Georgia during the 1960’s; she survives.
Jack was a veteran of the United States Army and had also served in the Merchant Marines. He owned and operated several businesses over the years and was a land developer. He was a member the Mason’s Masters and Wardens Association, and the West Palm Beach Masonic Lodge. Jack was the first State Licensed Hypnotist in Indiana and was a pilot licensed both in the United States and Australia. He traveled the world and was very active in politics and civic life to say the least. Jack was an avid supporter and faithful member of the Republican Party, except for the time he ran as a democrat against his good friend Senator Bob Meeks.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Mason, Syracuse; five children, Cassandra (James) Wrinkle, Pompano Beach, Fla.; John (Anna) Mason, Houston, Texas; Deborah (Larry) Mullins, Goshen, Ind.; Elizabeth (Jay) Dausman, Pierceton, Ind.; and Margaret (Max) Grady, Dewart Lake, Ind.; 10 grandchildren: James, John, Joseph, Amanda, Jacob, Nathaniel, Alexandria, Paul, Leigh Ann, Jade; seven great-grandchildren: Maggie, Joseph, Cameron, Robert, Alexis and Issac.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson: James Bradley Wrinkle; and a sister.
In accordance with Jack’s wishes, no public visitation or services are planned. A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier.
