Mary Elizabeth Nickel, 87, Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug., 19, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.

She was born April 26, 1924, to Herman and Ethel (Sutton) Sellers in Kosciusko County. On Aug. 5, 1972, she married Carl F. Nickel. She was a member of the Warsaw Elks Club. She was a cook for many years.

Mary is survived by a niece: Patty Nash; and a nephew: Robert Randall, both of Warsaw, Ind.

She is preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Chaplain Bob Jarboe will officiate the service.
