Driver In High Speed Pursuit Jailed
An alleged drug dealer who led Warsaw Police on a high speed chase last month has been arrested.
Brandon Adkins, 27, of Highlander Dr., Warsaw, was involved in a second police pursuit on Sunday in Tennessee, and again managed to escape. But on Monday, Adkins and Tiffany Anderson, 30, CR 250 South, Warsaw, contacted Warsaw detectives to make arrangements to turn themselves in to police.
Yesterday, Adkins and Anderson, who was a passenger in the vehicle, were located and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail
Adkins and Anderson were pursued by police on July 30 after a drug transaction with undercover officers in Warsaw. The pursuit reached speeds of 140 mph and ended south of Milford when a third individual jumped from the vehicle.
Adkins was driving a 2007 Lexus and fled the scene. The last contact Warsaw Police had with him and Anderson was later that same night via telephone. The couple had fled to Westfield, Ind.
Information was obtained that the pair, along with a third subject, then traveled to Lakeland, Fla.
Lakeland Police did locate a relative’s address there, but were unable to locate the suspects. T
Based on the information known to police, charges of Conspiracy to Deal in Methamphetamine and Fleeing Law Enforcement, both felonies, were filed against Adkins and Anderson. They are expected to be arraigned in court this week.
Adkins is currently be held on a $1,000,500 bond. Anderson’s bond is set at $50,000.
Information was obtained that the pair, along with a third subject, traveled to Lakeland, Fla. Lakeland Police did locate a relative’s address there, but were unable to locate the suspects.
On Sunday, Aug. 12, Tennessee police were involved in a high speed pursuit with Adkins and Anderson after a roadside stop. The pair was again successful in fleeing Tennessee police.
Warsaw Police continue the investigation. A third subject in the vehicle at the time of the July 30 pursuit is still being investigated and possible charges may be filed on that person.
