Coroner’s Findings in Double Suicide
The Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office has provided updated information from what was initially believed to have been a murder-suicide in Warsaw.
Results from the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center autopsy of James Kinzer, 47, and his wife, Jane Kinzer, 46, found that James Kinzer died from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the neck. Jane also died from a single gunshot wound to the head, however, results were inconclusive as to the wound being self-inflicted or not and therefore remain undetermined.
According to Kosciusko County Coroner John Sadler, the incident remains under investigation pending toxicology by his office in conjunction with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies who located the bodies during a welfare check, also found a 14-page suicide note left by the couple. At least one official says calling the tragedy a murder-suicide is wrong, especially since the note indicated the couple had planned to carry out their deaths.
