Richard ‘Ric’ Workman
Richard “Ric” Workman, 63, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born on July 20, 1948, in Syracuse to Dick and Donna (Galloway) Workman. Ric was a very well known musician in the area having performed for over four decades. He started off at an early age with his band the Tiki’s. He also played in the 70’s with the Laketrash Band who later reformed and played in the 2000’s.
He was most recently playing with the Gerri-Attrix Band. Ric was known as the Kosciusko County’s King of Karaoke. Ric was literally the hardest working musician around. He had also been working at Daren Industries at the time of his passing.
Ric is survived by his wife: Ruth Ann Voorheis, Syracuse; a daughter: Amanda Workman-Bender, Elkhart; two sons: Garin Kirk Voorheis, Syracuse; and Michael (Leslie) Voorheis, Nashville, Tenn.; two grandsons: Brandin Bender and Brittan Bender; his parents: Dick and Donna Workman, Syracuse; two brothers: Mark Workman, Barbee Lake; and David Workman, Syracuse.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. A celebration of Ric’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
