Beverly Jane Kent
Beverly Jane Kent, 82, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 5 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw, Ind.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1930, in Buena Park, Calif., to John Splawn Page and Eulah Nell (Bodine) Page. On Aug. 1, 1953, she was married to Homer Austin Kent Jr, who survives.
She attended Biola Bible Institute (Biola University) in La Mirada, California where she received her degree in Music. Beverly then was employed as a voice teacher at Grace College and Seminary of Winona Lake for 25 years. She was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, Winona Lake Literary Club, Grace College Faculty Women’s Club, and Women of Grace.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Homer Austin Kent, Winona Lake; two daughters: Rebecca (Gary) Woolman, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Katherine (Mark) McCarthy, Columbus, Ohio; one son: Daniel (Lisa) Kent, Milton, Ga.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother: John S. Page, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and her sister: Virginia Rose (Norman) Rohrer, Franklin, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister: Joanne Saffell.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church and officiated by Pastor Bruce Barlow. A private family burial take place Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
