Cynthia ‘Pearl’ Whitaker
Cynthia “Pearl” Whitaker, 87, of Warsaw, Ind., went home to be with the lord on Friday, July 6, 2012.
She was born in Prestonsburg, Ky., on Nov. 8, 1924, to Millard and Eva (Adams) Prater. On Aug. 16, 1943, she married the love of her life, Rev. Albert Whitaker and she lived most of her life in Warsaw, Ind. Rev Albert Whitaker and Pearl are the founders of the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Warsaw. She retired from Da-Lite Screen of Warsaw in 1988 after 21 years of service.
She is survived by her sons: James (Barbara) Whitaker, Warsaw; Sam (Jennifer) Whitaker, Claypool; and daughter: Kay (Thomas) Miller, Warsaw; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Rev. Albert Whitaker; one grandson; three brothers and seven sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Pentecostal Lighthouse Church of Warsaw. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday July 11, in the church. The Reverend Eugene Haney will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
