Baker, Yeo Help Indiana To Wins
A pair of local basketball standouts, Lindsay Baker of Warsaw and Clay Yeo of Triton, helped the Indiana Junior All-Star basketball teams to wins over Kentucky Friday night.
Baker netted four points as the Indiana girls team posted a 101-98 in the first game played at Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis.
Yeo tallied 12 points in the second game as the Hoosier squad outscored Kentucky 126-103 in the boys contest.
Taya Reimer of Hamilton Southeastern led the Indiana girls team with 28 points. The hosts won the girls game despite a 44-point performance by Becca Greenwell of Owensboro Catholic, who hit six 3-pointers and 12-14 free throws, to lead Kentucky.
Leo Svete of Penn scored 10 points in the boys victory, one of six Indiana players to hit double figures in the win. The victorious Indiana boys team hit 13 3-pointers and 19-22 free throws as a team.
This is the first year for the Junior Series. The series concludes today (June 16) with the teams playing at North Oldham High School in Goshen, Ky. The girls game begins at 5:30 p.m. with the boys contest to follow.
