Triton To Unveil Football Pavilion
The Triton High School athletic department will unveil its new football pavilion at an open house on Monday.
The Ernie Watkins Pavilion will be christened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. The new 1,600-square foot building will house a ticket area, concession stand and restrooms for the THS football program.
The pavilion is part of the athletic department’s Back Our Trojans fundraising campaign which began last fall and includes athletic improvements such as a new football press box, a new baseball press box and new scoreboards.
The funds for the new pavilion came from a donation by friends of Watkins, who was the Triton School Corporation Maintenance Director from 1968-88.
