A Night at the Library – See what happens at the Library after hours during the Stuffed Animal Sleepover on June 13 -14. The Youth Department will be a buzz with fuzzy antics as the toys have their very own sleepover. Children are invited to bring their stuffed animals to the Library Wednesday evening, June 13, at 6:00 p.m. to enjoy an evening story time. Then they will go home, leaving their fuzzy friends at the Library for the night. The next morning the children will return at 10:00 a.m. to pick up their stuffed animals and watch a slide show of their nighttime adventures at the Library. Doughnuts and juice will also be served. There will be three Stuffed Animal Sleepover dates to choose from, so if your child misses this first one, they can participate in the June 19-20 or June 26-27 session.
The toys aren’t the only ones having fun at the Library next week. On Friday, June 15, kids and their families are invited to Friday Family Food and Fun to work on themed crafts and enjoy snacks. The theme will be stars and outer space. The children will move among four stations where they will make a rocket ship, a shooting star, a stamping craft, and munch on Jell-O stars. Starting June 1, families can sign up for one of three time slots at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., or 2:30 p.m. Prior registration is required. If you and your children miss the June 15 session, another Friday Family Food and Fun will be held June 29 with a camping theme. Registration for the June 29 session begins June 15.
Bring the whole family to Family Movie Time at the Library on Saturday, June 16, at 11:00 a.m. to watch a movie about a boy who journeys with his stepfather to a mysterious island in search of his grandfather. This 94-minute movie is rated PG and will be shown in the Library meeting room. Pick up your free tickets one hour prior to show time. Free popcorn will be served, and you’re welcome to bring your own beverages.
Four of the winners of the Kosciusko County Recycling Depot’s recent “Trash to Treasure” Contest will be displayed at the Library June 2-11. Come in and see these creative re-uses for refuse.
The Library will be closing early at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, so all can attend the Mermaid Festival Cutie Parade. While you’re in town for the Mermaid Festival next week, stop in the Library, browse through our large collection of materials, view our interesting displays, use our public computers, or sign up for a class. You’ll be surprised at the variety of programming we offer.
