Alan Wayne Sumpter, 56, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:05 a.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012, in his residence.

On Dec. 20, 1955, Alan was born to Wayne and MaryEtta (Biltz) Sumpter in Warsaw. He married Linda Peter on March 23, 1974, in Warsaw.

A lifetime resident of Warsaw, he was previously a co-owner of Tri-Lakes Container Corporation, Pierceton, retiring in 2009. Alan was also a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Alan is survived by his wife: Linda Sumpter, Warsaw; three children, Jeramy (Tammy) Sumpter, Newark, Ohio, Jaime Bozzo, Warsaw and Jason (Tina) Sumpter, Warsaw; mother, MaryEtta DeSear, Bradenton, Florida; two brothers, David Sumpter, Silver Lake and Andi (and spouse Ami) Sumpter, San Francisco, California; 9 grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be at 4:00 pm on Monday, May 21, 2012 at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor Erik Ohman officiating. A private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

There are no visitation hours planned.
