Randolph ‘Randy’ Scott Balmer
Randolf “Randy” Scott Balmer, 58, of 308 N. Main St., Syracuse, Ind., and formerly of Warsaw, Ind., passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012, at 8:31 a.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.
He was born June 28, 1953, in Lancaster, Pa., to Jean Loraine (Slagel) Balmer and Robert Shreiner Balmer, who both survive. On Jan. 12, 1974, in Lancaster, Pa., he was married to Debra Lee Shelly, who survives.
Randy attended school at Lititz, Pennsylvania, graduating from Warwick High School in 1971. After which he attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind., from 1971-72.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 21 years moving to Warsaw in 1991 where he started working for Warsaw Masonry Supply as a fireplace manager until his retirement due to ill health in 2011. Randy attended Warsaw Community Church.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Debra “Debbie” L. Balmer, Syracuse, Ind.; son: Jonathan (Angela) Balmer, Syracuse, Ind.; daughter: Shelley (David) Brigham, Fort Hood, Texas; and two grandsons: Jack and Kolden; his parents: Jean Loraine and Robert Shreiner Balmer, Warsaw; and his sister: Patty (John) Boren, Winona Lake, Ind.
Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Community Grace Brethren Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, at Community Grace Brethren Church, 909 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, and officiated by Chaplain John Boren.
Memorial donations in Randy’s memory can be directed to Debra Balmer, 308 N. Main St., Syracuse, IN 46567 to go toward an account for his grandchildren’s education, and would be appreciated by his family.
