Peggy Jane Heldreth
Peggy Jane Heldreth, 59, of Mentone, Ind., passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at 11:25 a.m. in her residence.
On May 1, 1953, Peggy was born to Herb and Peggy (Washburn) Jensen in San Francisco, California. She married Mark Heldreth on March 22, 1989, in Tempe, Ariz., whom survives.
Peggy lived in various places including Vandenberg Air Force base, California; Japan; Aurora, Colorado; Sembach Air Force base, Germany; Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota; Homer, Nebraska from 1969 – 1985; Tempe/Chandler, Arizona from 1985 – 1989 and then Mentone, Indiana from 1989 – 2012.
She graduated from Wayne State College, Nebraska in 1975 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Arizona State University in 1987 with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. Peggy taught elementary school in Hinton, Iowa from 1975 – 1984; Gilbert, Arizona from 1985 – 1989 and Alethia Academy from 1997 – 2012.
Peggy was a member of First Baptist Church, Mentone. She was a sunday school teacher for the elementary class, Awana leader, a nursery volunteer and taught in the vacation bible school.
She is survived by her husband: Mark Heldreth, Mentone; three children: John Heldreth, James Heldreth and Sarah Heldreth, all of Mentone; two sisters: Jan (Gary) Brock, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Karen Portz, Mentone.
Visitation hours will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, May 11, 2012 at the funeral chapel.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 12, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Michael Wilhite officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
