“The Senate Majority Whip has become a key position on our leadership team,” Long said. “The Whip must work on a daily basis on a variety of matters within the caucus, not the least of which is taking head counts at critical times.  Ryan has the skill set to handle the job and the complete respect of his fellow caucus members. I am confident that he is the best person for the job.”

A lifetime resident of Marshall and Kosciusko counties, Mishler received his degree from the University of Southern California School of Business. He is currently president of Mishler Funeral Homes and is also president of Bremen Monument Company. He serves on the Board of Directors of Bremen Village Associates, Bremen Chamber and Warsaw/Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce.

Mishler was elected to the Indiana Senate in 2004, has formerly served as Assistant Majority Whip and currently serves as Chairman of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee. While serving in the Senate, Mishler has championed legislation that secured funds for Warsaw’s Ivy Tech campus and resources benefitting the Hoosier state’s tourism sector, authored legislation that used grants to attract new business and promote job growth, and also streamlined professional licensing measures in an effort to protect Hoosier consumers. In addition, the Chamber of Commerce has ranked Mishler as one of the state’s most pro-job lawmakers.
