Triton 0-3, Manchester 1-2 At Jimtown Tourney
ELKHART — Triton tennis scuffled to an 0-3 finish at the Jimtown Tournament Saturday, falling 4-1 to Lapel and 5-0 to both Jimtown and Manchester. Jimtown went 3-0 to win the tourney, while Manchester finished 1-2 behind Lapel’s 2-1 finish.
Triton’s only win of the day came opposite Lapel as Connor Large beat Trevor Whaley 6-4, 6-4 at 3 singles.
Manchester’s one victory came against the Trojans via a 5-0 sweep.
Luke Donathon beat Carter Kuntz 6-1, 6-1 at 1 singles, Spence Trick shut out Jared Bules, 6-0, 6-0 at 2 singles, and Quinn Martin downed Large 7-5, 7-6(3) at 3 singles. Kyle Shephard and Kam Lester combined for a 6-4, 6-4 win over John Gardner and Chase Butler at 1 doubs, and Logan Parrett and Grant Stobel completed the sweep with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-3, super tiebreaker win over Tyler Heckaman and Grant Eib at 2 doubles.
Triton slips to 4-8 and will host LaVille Tuesday evening.
